The Chairman, OPAC Refineries and Executive Chairman of CORAN, alongside the Board Chairman of CORAN and other members of the Association, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) on 22 April 2026 in Abuja.
The engagement provided a strategic platform to advance discussions on strengthening Nigeria’s domestic refining ecosystem, with particular focus on ensuring reliable crude supply to local refiners under the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation (DCSO) and enhancing alignment across the upstream and downstream segments.
The Commission Chief Executive assured CORAN of the Commission’s continued support in fostering an enabling environment for indigenous refiners, including efforts to strengthen infrastructure, domestic supply of crude oil, and stakeholder collaboration across the value chain.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of structured industry engagements, with plans for broader stakeholder interactions to address key challenges and drive practical solutions.
The meeting reinforces a shared commitment to sustainable sector growth, energy sufficiency, and unlocking greater domestic value from Nigeria’s crude resources.
