HSE Policy

OPAC refineries believes that managing all of the HSE aspects of her operations is the basis for reaching our vision to be best in class in Health, Safety and Environmental performance and to be so recognized by our industry peers and our host communities.

We are together committed to:

  • Protects the health and safety of our people, contractor personnel and the general public.
  • Minimize adverse environmental impacts.
  • Comply with all applicable HSE laws, relevant legislation, regulation and industry standards.
  • Continual improvement to drive down HSE impacts of our operations by identifying all HSE risk and impacts with appropriate controls and steps to improve them.
  • Ensure that HSE is an integral part of our business decision-making processes at all levels of the company via the application of proactive, systemic, timely and risk based approach to HSE.
  • Provide the necessary training to ensure that all employees and contractors are aware of their roles and responsibilities regarding safety.
  • Prevent all injuries and protect the environment in which it operates.
  • Recognize those who contribute to improve HSE performance.
  • Conduct regular HSE reviews and audits in order to provide assurance regarding conformance with requirements.
  • Act on individual responsibilities basis to operate safely and contribute to the wellbeing of one another.

 

Environmental Policy

OPAC Refineries is committed to conducting all its operations in a manner that protects the environment, prevents pollution, and complies with all applicable local regulations, statutory requirements, and international best practices.

To achieve this, we shall:

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify, assess, and manage environmental aspects and impacts associated with our operations.
  • Implement and maintain effective Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and continuously monitor their performance.
  • Prevent pollution by minimizing air emissions, waste generation, effluent discharge, and resource consumption.
  • Promote efficient use of energy, water, and raw materials.
  • Establish measurable environmental objectives and targets, including greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor, review, and improve environmental performance.
  • Ensure awareness and competence of employees and contractors on environmental responsibilities.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders and maintain transparent communication on environmental matters.

Security

We are partnering with host Communities to secure lives and assets. We are applying non-confrontational security strategies in compliance with National and International Laws with respect to Human Rights.

Community

We regard our host communities as stakeholders and our primary objective in the partnership is to promote capacity building. We will pursue proactive engagements with communities and utilize the atmosphere of peaceful coexistence achieved to implement sustainable development programs for communities.

Safety Mission

We must adhere to the highest standards for the safe operation of facilities and the protection of the environment, our people and customers, and the citizens of the communities in which we do business.

Safety Philosophy

We will not operate, handle, use, sell, transport, or dispose of a product unless we can do so safely and in an environmentally sound manner.
