Mr. Momoh Oyarekhua Represents CORAN and OPAC Refineries at NIES 2026 on “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future.”

Mr. Momoh Oyarekhua, Chairman of the Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) and OPAC Refineries, participated at the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026, held under the theme “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future.”

Speaking on the panel which focused on Driving Domestic Value: Transforming Downstream Markets & Refining, Mr. Oyarekhua engaged with industry leaders, policymakers, and investors on the urgent need to strengthen Nigeria’s Midstream and downstream sector through increased local refining capacity and domestic value creation.

The Discussion centred on domestic refining, distribution reforms, pricing dynamics, supply security, and investment frameworks.

As Chairman of CORAN and OPAC Refineries, Mr. Oyarekhua emphasized the importance of policy clarity, implementation of the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation, and industry collaboration in enabling Nigeria to refine more of its crude locally, enhance energy security, and deliver long-term economic prosperity.
